Jeff Londer has been involved in the market research field since 1973, as a member of the retail community and as a consultant. He is an expert in site selection and market research in both the public and private sectors, having held research positions with state government, several multi-billion dollar corporations, and a privately owned market research company. Jeff’s expertise is centered on his ability to thoroughly and accurately conduct market strategies, identify store expansion opportunities in existing and new markets and forecast sales of specific retail sites.
Jeff founded Area Research Associates in 1992 and continues to be an active member of the analytical staff. Previously, Jeff was Vice President of Thompson Associates, a national consulting firm. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the western office and was in charge of all gravity model forecasting. As Manager of Site Research for Service Merchandise Corporation. Jeff directed expansion opportunities and growth strategies for catalog showrooms and home improvement centers. Prior, he was Senior Market Analyst for SuperValu, the nation’s largest grocery wholesaler. In addition to preparing supermarket studies, Jeff was the sole corporate analyst responsible for conducting market/sales surveys for ShopKo, an upscale discount store chain.
Earlier in his research career, Jeff held analytical positions with Dayton Hudson Corporation (Dayton’s, Hudson’s, Fields, Target, Mervyn’s), Bank Building Corporation (BBC) and the Missouri Division of Finance. Here he gained knowledge and expertise with department stores, financial institutions (banks, savings & loans, credit unions) and the public sector.
Jeff earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
